Came from England to New Haven Colony about 1640 and settled on the site of Elizabeth, NJ a few years later.

Benjamin Meeker

Lived all his life on the site of Elizabeth, NJ.  His old home was torn down a few years ago and had been the oldest frame dwelling in NJ.

Robert White

"Robert lived in Shalford, England from the time of his marriage to his death and was a very rich man for those times, his property being inventoried at twelve thousand pounds, a pound at that time being double in woth the pound of today."  From a Loomis Genealogy book in Denver Public Library.

Have both Shalford and Messing, Essex, England for birthplace, christening, death, and burial.

Thomas Wire

When 7 years old, when playing in the street (London or Liverpool) he was kidnapped by a ship captain, brought to Boston and sold to a tailor for seven years.  He was impressed into the French and Indian War as an English officer's servant.  He found his way to Goshen, CT (war ended 1759).  No record of his life and children is to be found, but there is a tradition that he had a large family some of whom made their way west.
